Herbal Folk Medicines of Kabhrepalanchok District, Central Nepal

Abstract

This medico-ethnobotanical study of the rural inhabitants of Kabhrepalanchok district, Central Nepal provides information on fifty-one empirically accepted prescriptions involving 36 plant species from 36 genera and 27 families. It is evident that traditional pharmaceutical practice is developed, organized, systematic and being modernized. The use of home herbal remedies is much alive and functioning among the rural populace and is frequently the first choice of treatment utilized for common ailments. In most cases, this is the only medicament available.
