Abstract

An amylose was isolated from “Ban Xia”, the dried tuber of Pinellia ternata, which demonstrated marked anti-inflammatory activity in mice at 25 mgAg. This amylose demonstrated nmr characteristics consistent with a standard amylose of a molecular weight of 4,100, which also demonstrated antiinflammatory activity in the same potency range as the isolated product from “Ban Xia” in mice.
