Abstract
Four compounds were isolated from a dichloromethane extract of the aerial parts of Chenopodium procerum by different chromatographic techniques: the isoflavones irilin A and irilin B, the flavanone dihydrowogonin, and the sesquiterpene pygmol. The latter three inhibited the growth of the plant pathogenic fungus Cladosporium cucumeri-num. Four flavonol glycosides were obtained from the non-fungicidal methanol extract by Sephadex LH-20 gel filtration and centifugal partition chromatography. The structures of the compounds were eluacidated by spectroscopic methods (UV, lH-NMR, 13C-NMR, MS).
