Factors related to persistence and improvement of stuttering in children

Pages 65-72 | Published online: 11 Jul 2009

Abstract

The author gave continuous therapies and guidances to 47 child stutterers. The present study is designed to define the factors of improvement, persistence and aggravation by investigating these children every year after therapies. The data was analyzed by using factor analysis and five factors were extracted. The correlation between these 5 factors and the degree of improvement was examined by using Pearson's correlation. Based on these data, it can be concluded that the less the degree of “the environment incompletion factor”, the better the degree of improvement.
