Abstract
Uterine rupture is a serious catastrophe, fraught with danger to both mother and fetus. The worst types of ruptures are those resulting in extrauterine expulsion of the fetus and placenta. This report presents a patient with rupture of a classical uterine scar in two consecutive pregnancies; one resulted in fetal demise and the other in the survival of the fetus, who was delivered from the peritoneal cavity with the placenta. A subsequent pregnancy is also discussed. A review of the literature depicted a few similar cases.
