Abstract

In a double-blind study, PEMFs were used to treat 21 patients having skin lesions of venous origin. No effect of PEMFs was observed in ulcers larger than 20 em2. Among the patients with smaller ulcers, 50% healed in the sham-stimulated group and 100% healed in the active-stimulated group. The data suggest a therapeutic effect of PEW stimulation in the treatment of skin ulcers.
