Abstract

Fifteen patients with post-traumatic nonunions and a bone gap, eight of which were infected, were treated with bone grafting and electrostimulation using a stimulator connected to the external fixation pins. All nonunions healed with a median time of 9 months, and no recurrences of the osteomyelitis were observed.
