Abstract

We, the Editors and Publisher of Nanotoxicology, have retracted the following article:

Prasenjit Manna, Manoranjan Ghosh, Jyotirmoy Ghosh, Joydeep Das & Parames C. Sil (2012) Contribution of nano-copper particles to in vivo liver dysfunction and cellular damage: Role of IκBα/NF-κB, MAPKs and mitochondrial signal, Nanotoxicology, 6:1, 1-21, DOI: 10.3109/17435390.2011.552124

Since publication, concerns have been raised about the integrity of the data in the article. When approached for an explanation, the authors confirmed there are fundamental errors present in Figure 12B. Upon further review, additional issues were identified regarding the western blot results and statistical variance across the figures.

When original data and supporting additional documentation was requested, the authors were unable to provide this. As verifying the validity of published work is core to the integrity of the scholarly record, we are therefore retracting the article. The authors do not agree with the retraction.

We have been informed in our decision-making by our editorial policies and the COPE guidelines.

The retracted article will remain online to maintain the scholarly record, but it will be digitally watermarked on each page as ‘Retracted’.
