Pages 14-16 | Published online: 10 Jul 2009

Abstract

The unsuccessful application by Christopher Dresser to procure the Chair of Botany at University College, London, proved to be to the advantage of the ceramics industry in the Victorian era. His work was highly acclaimed for being original, yet practical, producing designs for ceramics, glass, textiles, and other commodities.
