The Mobility RERC State of the Science Conference and this Special Section is the result of the hard work and generosity of many people. We thank NIDRR, NIDRR’s Project Officer, Tom Corfman, and RESNA for allowing us the leeway to design our State of the Science Conference and hold it as a part of the Annual RESNA Conference. We relied on generous sponsorship to insure that we could offer this conference. Our sponsors included Invacare, Permobil, Pride Mobility, The Roho Group and Sunrise Medical.

I would like to personally thank Lauren Bowers, who did most of the conference planning and insured all the necessary CEU information was collected and submitted. She was then assisted by Lisette Vonk in insuring the conference ran smoothly, and I thank them both for their success in doing so. I thank the topic leaders, Kevin Caves, Laura Cohen, Doron Edwards, Helen Hoenig, Rita Hostak and Sharon Sonenblum for organizing their sessions and leading discussion.

Finally, we would like to thank all the attendees who listened to the presentations and contributed to the discussion. If they learned half as much as much as I, this was a successful conference.
