Severe Illness in Children Exposed to Natural Measles after Prior Vaccination against the Disease: A Report of Six Cases

Pages 157-160 | Published online: 02 Jan 2015

Abstract

Six similar cases of moderate to severe illness after exposure to natural measles in children previously vaccinated against the disease are described. It is suggested that an Arthus-type antigen-antibody reaction is responsible for the clinical features observed. There is evidence that inactivated measles vaccine may be the causative factor.
