Abstract
An 18-month-old, poorly-nourished infant died in hospital after a stormy course of tuberculous meningitis. Because of difficulties encountered in making a definitive diagnosis, a description of the patient, his illness, and the criteria for diagnosis of tuberculous meningitis would point out the need for quick, accurate, clinical judgment in cases of this type. Epidemiologic, bacteriologic and pathologic data pertinent to the case are presented and analyzed.
