Acute Necrotizing Herpes Simplex Virus Encephalitis —Diagnostic Problems

Abstract

A case of herpes simplex virus encephalitis is described in which a specific diagnosis was arrived at by immunofluorescence on brain biopsy material taken on the 6th day. Attempts of treatment with cytosine arabinoside were unsuccessful.
