The Influence of Chrysotherapy Followed by Chloroquine Therapy upon the Hemagglutination Reaction in Rheumatoid Arthritis

Having observed the action of the gold therapy (applied during 3 months) followed by a chloroquine therapy (applied from 12 to 15 months) in 49 cases of rheumatoid arthritis with a hemagglutination titer greater than 1/32, the authors state:

1. that the titer became normal in 80 % of the cases active for less than one year;

2. that normalization occurred in only 33 % of the cases active for more than one year. Statistics prove that this normalization is in fact the result of the therapy.

Observant l'action de la thérapeutique de l'or (appliquée 3 mois) et de chloroquine (appliquée 12 à 15 mois) utilisées successivement chez 49 cas de P. C. E. possédant un titre d'hémagglutination au dessus de 1/32, les auteurs constatent que:

1. les malades ayant moins d'un an d'évolution, normalisent leur titre dans 80 % des cas;

2. chez les malades ayant plus d'un an d'évolution, cette normalisation ne se fait que dans 33 % des cas.

   Le calcul statistique prouve que cette normalisation est un résultat de la thérapeutique.

Nach Prüfung der Wirkung der Goldtherapie (3 Monate angewandt), gefolgt durch die Chloroquinotherapie (12 bis 15 Monate angewandt) — bei 49 Fällen von P. C. P. mit einem Hemagglutinationsgrad von mehr als 1/32 —; bestätigen die Autoren:

1. dass sich die Titerhöhe bei 80 % von Krankheitsfällen, die weniger als ein Jahr evoluieren, normalisiert;

2. dass bei denjenigen, die länger als ein Jahr evoluieren, lediglich in 33 % der Fälle eine Normalisierung eintritt.

Die statistischen Berechnungen beweisen, dass diese Normalisierung tatsächlich die Folge der Therapie ist.
