Joanna BatesUniversity of British Columbia, Canada; JOANNA BATES, MD, CM, is a Professor of Family Practice and Director of the Centre for Health Education Scholarship, Faculty of Medicine, University of British Columbia. She led the doubling of the UBC MD Undergraduate program, and its distribution to two new campuses in BC using a technology infrastructure.

Philip BurnsUniversity of Manchester, UK; PHILIP BURNS, MB, ChB, is a senior teaching fellow in community-based medical education and a director of curriculum development and delivery at Manchester Medical School, The University of Manchester, UK. He led the development of integrated community and hospital health education zones in the North West of England during a phase of expansion of student numbers in the UK.

Oscar CasiroUniversity of British Columbia, Canada; OSCAR CASIRO, MD, is a Regional Associate Dean, Vancouver Island and a Professor in the Department of Pediatrics, Faculty of Medicine, University of British Columbia as well as Head of the Division of Medical Sciences, University of Victoria. He has led the development of the Island Medical Program (IMP) since it was established in 2004. The IMP is one of the distributed campuses of the Faculty of Medicine, UBC.

Richard HaysBond University, Australia; RICHARD HAYS, MB, BS, PhD, is a Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences and Medicine and Pro-Vice Chancellor for Quality, Teaching and Learning, at Bond University, Australia. He has been involved in the establishment of new medical schools in Australia, the UK, Canada and Thailand, many of them including distributed campuses.

Dan HuntAssociation of American Medical Colleges, Washington DC, USA; DAN HUNT, MD, is the Senior Director for Accreditation Services at the Association of American Medical Colleges and Secretary of the Liaison Committee on Medical Education. Prior to his appointment to these roles in 2007, he was the Founding Dean for Academic Activities at Canada's first new medical school in 30 years in Northern Ontario. Before that, he served for 17 years as the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs at the University of Washington School of Medicine.

Angela TowleUniversity of British Columbia, Canada; ANGELA TOWLE, PhD, is the former Associate Dean, MD Undergraduate Education, Curriculum and Vancouver Fraser Medical Program, Faculty of Medicine and Co-Director, Division of Health Care Communication, College of Health Disciplines at the University of British Columbia (UBC). She was a member of the leadership team for the distributed medical program at UBC from 2002 to 2010.
