Abstract

This research work is to authenticate the possibility of the commercialisation of mileage booster as a fuel enhancer for SI engines, especially in two-wheelers. The global transportation sector is facing three major challenges, namely exhaustion of fossil fuels, instability in crude oil prices and stringent environmental regulations. Presently, the exhaustion of natural fuel resources makes them costlier and it escalates environmental pollution. Therefore, efforts have been made to increase the efficiency of internal combustion engines, particularly for fuel ingesting and toxin emission levels. Petrol + Electrolysis, Petrol + Camphor and Petrol + ethanol were compared in the motorcycle engine with regular petrol. The BTE of Petrol + Electrolysis is closer to petrol fuel and is 14.81%. Petrol + Electrolysis have decreased unburned HC by up to 0.9%, CO by 0.9% and fuel consumption by up to 29%.
