Canalolithiasis due to a firework explosion: A case report

Abstract

A clinical case of a person exposed to a powerful blast from a firework resulting in lesions to the external ear (amputation of auricle), middle ear (tearing of the tympanic membrane) and inner ear (hearing loss, tinnitus, vertigo, spontaneous nystagmus, vomiting, postural imbalance and canalolithiasis of the posterior semicircular canal) is presented. The patient was followed until one year after the accident.
