Data are mean ± SD. APACHE II = Acute Physiology and Chronic Health Evaluation score, determined on admission. SOFA = sequential organ failure assessment (range 0–24, with higher scores indicating more severe disease). CT severity index ranges from 0 to 10, with higher scores indicating more extensive pancreatic parenchymal necrosis and peripancreatic fluid collections.
