Link between external electromagnetic field and biological matter

Pages 233-250 | Published online: 23 Feb 2007

The effect of EMFs in biology is controversial, partly due to a lack of definition of a mechanism of interaction.

A shielding device is constructed to identify the effects of EMF inside the rat. The animal and recording system are shielded but not the tail, which is exposed to EMF. Veins and arteries function as relatively insulated conducting “cables.” Results of these experiments are presented and conclusions drawn.
