Abstract
Larsen, L. & Winsløv, J.-H. (2005). Still myself after all these years—on the aging personality. Nordisk Psykologi, 57, 1, 21–46.
Based on research on personality traits, this article attempts to answer the following questions: What happens to personality as we age? Are personality traits stable or do they change or even develop in adulthood and old age. If so, how and why? In order to provide qualified answers to these questions, it is neccesary to piece together informations from studies using different measures and designs. Further we discuss the implications of continuity and change and how this knowledge may be applied in the best interest of an increasing number of individuals reaching old age.
