Abstract

Passed down from the previous generation, alpine land in the Swiss Bernese Oberland is owned by three families with different ideas about what taking care of old structures and land looks like. Cattle come up from the valley in the summer. When the ancient barn is leaning and in need of repair, they discover the work of a badger, a powerful digger. Conflict arises. In due time, the barn project turns into a unifying force, lifting family shadows. This is a work of nonfiction.
