In the section “Fictional case study 1: Helen”, the second sentence of the paragraph beginning “In the sessions Helen’s physical body…” contained an error when first published online. The corrected sentence is as follows:
“It seemed that for Helen it was my role as the therapist to help restore her fragile sense of herself as a person and to offer her my continuing perception of her as a boy.”
This has now been corrected in both the online and print versions of the article.
