Announcing the 2007 Editor's Awards

Page 213 | Published online: 09 Jul 2009

In 2006, the Editorial Board announced the creation of the Editor's awards for the International Journal of Hyperthermia. The Editor's Awards are presented to lead authors, under the age of 35, for the best papers published in the Journal's three subject disciplines of clinical, biological and physics/ engineering studies.

Over the past year, several papers were submitted for consideration. The Editorial Board reviewed each paper and scored them for merit. The resulting winners were those who had the best scores in their respective categories.

The intent of these awards is to reward the best and brightest young scientists in our discipline, thereby fostering development of future leaders in our field. It is with pleasure that we present this year's winners. We are confident that this will be the beginning of a strong tradition in our discipline.

Award winners receive a cash prize and 1 year's annual membership to either the ‘Society for Thermal Medicine’, the ‘European Society for Hyperthermic Oncology’ or the ‘Asian Society of Hyperthermic Oncology.’

The awards are sponsored by Informa Healthcare, publishers of the International Journal of Hyperthermia.
