Statement of Retraction

This article refers to:
RETRACTED ARTICLE: Efficacy of oral bisphosphonates for preventing hip fracture in disabled patients with neurological diseases: a meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials among the Japanese population

We, the Editors and Publishers of Current Medical Research and Opinion are retracting the following article:

Jun Iwamoto, Tsuyoshi Takeda & Hideo Matsumoto (2011) Efficacy of oral bisphosphonates for preventing hip fracture in disabled patients with neurological diseases: a meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials among the Japanese population, Current Medical Research and Opinion, 27:6, 1141-1148 http://dx.doi.org/10.1185/03007995.2011.570747

Following a number of recent retractions of all four randomized controlled trials this meta-analysis is based on, the lead author of these trials has taken full responsibility for the fraud, and requested their retraction. Concerns about the data integrity were originally raised by Bolland et. al. [Citation1] who used complex statistical methods that have been demonstrated as helping to uncover potentially fraudulent behavior on a large scale.
