Collaborative Ocular Tuberculosis Study (COTS) group through COTS-1, COTS Nomenclature and COTS CON have published a significant number of articles on ocular tuberculosis. The consensus guidelines and nomenclature proposed by the COTS group will eliminate the current discrepancies in terminology related to OTB and thereby bridging the gap between uveitis specialists, chest physicians, epidemiologist, scientists and industry. COTS group through its numerous publications has also consolidated the definition of treatment failure in patients with ocular tuberculosis. Through a well conducted meeting using Delphi technique, the group has also laid down the minimum set of criteria for guiding the physicians around the world about initiating Antitubercular Therapy (ATT). COTS group has also inspired researchers in other subspecialties of Ophthalmology and the model adopted by COTS is now universally adopted for large-scale collaborative studies and also for generating consensus guidelines. A total of 17 publications have been published by the group in Ophthalmology journals and the group is still working on future studies related to ocular tuberculosis.
