Dr Salomaa is Professor of radiobiology in University of Eastern Finland and Coordinator of National Radiation Safety Research Programme in STUK. As part of setting up the European low dose programme (MELODI), she coordinated DoReMi Network of Excellence 2010–2015. She is representative of Finland to UNSCEAR and member of ICRP Committee 1.

Dr Niwa is Chairman of Radiation Effects Research Foundation. He served as President and Vice President of International Association of Radiation Research from 2007–2011. He is a radiation biologist in training and spent his 10 years of the professorship at the Radiation Biology Center of Kyoto University for working on the mechanisms of radiation induction of delayed and untargeted mutation in mice.

Dr Brooks is a retired Professor from Washington State University where he was the Chief Scientist on the Department of Energy’s Low Dose Radiation Research Project. He served on the NCRP for almost 30 years and was on the Board of Directors. He has invested his life conducting research on the effects of internally deposited radioactive materials.
