Abstract
Susan Perkins has integrated her skills as a registered nurse, certified alcohol and substance abuse counselor, psychiatric nurse practitioner and adult nurse practitioner in caring for patients with psychiatric illnesses and substance use disorders. I had the privilege of interviewing her this past month to learn about her role in a community hospital.
