This article refers to:
RETRACTED ARTICLE: Vaginal misoprostol before copper IUD insertion after previous insertion failure: a double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel-group, randomised clinical trial

We, the Editor and Publisher of the European Journal of Contraception & Reproductive Health Care, have retracted the following article:

Radwa Rasheedy, Tarek Fathi Tamara, Ihab Serag Allam, Ahmed Mohamed Abbas, Nermine Essam El-Din Abd El Salam & Ahmed Ferhad Ahmed (2019) Vaginal misoprostol before copper IUD insertion after previous insertion failure: a double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel-group, randomised clinical trial, The European Journal of Contraception & Reproductive Health Care, 24:3, 222-226, DOI: 10.1080/13625187.2019.1610871

Since publication, significant concerns have been raised about the integrity of the data and reported results in the article. While the authors fully cooperated with the investigation and provided information in response to our queries, they were unable to adequately address the concerns raised or to provide their original data for review. As verifying the validity of published work is core to the integrity of the scholarly record, we are therefore retracting the article. The authors do not agree with the retraction.

We have been informed in our decision-making by our policy on publishing ethics and integrity and the COPE guidelines.

The retracted article will remain online to maintain the scholarly record, but it will be digitally watermarked on each page as ‘Retracted’.
