It is with great privilege and enthusiasm that I assume the role of Editor for the International Journal of Psychiatry in Clinical Practice, effective January 2024. Stepping into the footsteps of my distinguished former Department head at the Medical University of Vienna, Austria, and mentor, Prof. Siegfried Kasper, who founded this journal in 1996 together with David Baldwin, Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Southampton, UK, I am deeply humbled by this opportunity to contribute to the advancement of psychiatric knowledge and practice.
Under Prof. Kasper’s guidance, this journal has flourished, attaining in impressive impact factor of 3 in 2022. His dedication and vision have shaped the journal into an essential source of information in the field of psychiatry. I am committed to building upon this strong foundation and further enhancing the impact of our publication.
One of the hallmarks of the International Journal of Psychiatry in Clinical Practice is its diverse range of topics, all of which hold significant relevance to clinical practice. Furthermore, it is worth mentioning the international scope of our journal. We are privileged to feature contributions from authors from all corners of the globe, each bringing unique perspectives and insights informed by their distinct cultural backgrounds and clinical experiences. The diversity enriches our pages and fosters an exchange of ideas transcending geographical boarders.
