We very much appreciate the comments of Dr. Morales. We want to make clear that we do not insist on our proposed acronym HAM (hypogonadism of the aging male). We wholeheartedly agree with the terms ‘testosterone deficiency syndrome (TDS)’ or ‘androgen deficiency syndrome (ADS)’. As Dr. Morales points out, the first designation appears to be more appropriate because deficiency of a specific androgen, testosterone, is known to be the major problem of aging men Citation[1].

We would like to support the use of the two acronyms as proposed by a well-known authority in the field of the Aging Male.
