Christopher Gore
Christopher Gore is a Psychodynamic Therapist and Clinical Supervisor working in private practice in Woking, Surrey. His main interests are in understanding how addictions defend against underlying traumatic experiences. These defences, usually action orientated and aggressive, are sometimes misunderstood as such. His previous work experiences have included working as a Fitness instructor, as a Social Worker in Palliative Care and for a number of years as a Senior Counsellor with adolescents excluded from education. He has also worked in numerous settings with those who have addiction problems as both a therapist and Clinical Supervisor. He has taught on the introductory Counselling courses at Birkbeck College and was a staff member on numerous Group Relations Conferences. He is currently embarking on further training at The Institute of Psychoanalysis.
