ABSTRACT

Journal clubs have existed for 150 years for clinicians to discuss the latest evidence, yet multiple barriers exist. Rapid healthcare changes provide new opportunities for librarians to promote modern journal clubs. An interdisciplinary team of librarians, nursing faculty, and a continuing education program manager designed, conducted, and evaluated a live journal club for nurses located throughout the United States. Five sessions were conducted and 11 RNs participated. Participants’ Evidence-Based Practice Belief Scale scores and survey responses were encouraging. Journal clubs led by an interdisciplinary team are one way to embrace change while supporting clinicians.
