Abstract
The aim of the present study was to evaluate the acute effects of combined use of marijuana and Methylphenidate (MPD) on cognition performance of male rats. Rats received marijuana, MPD and co-administration of effective & ineffective doses of both. Spatial learning and memory were evaluated by Morris Water Maze (MWM) apparatus. MPD revealed significant beneficial effects on learning process while marijuana caused a significant impairment in learning. MPD administration did not attenuate the marijuana induced memory impairment. Co-administration of MPD and marijuana was associated with significant impairment in learning, without any significant effect on memory.
