A class of ratio type estimators for imputing the missing values under rank set sampling

ABSTRACT

In this article we consider a class of ratio type estimators for imputing the missing value under the rank set sampling (rss) for both situations in which the population mean of the auxiliary variable is known and those in which it is unknown. The mean squared errors of the proposed class of estimators are obtained up to the first order of approximation. For the numerical illustration, two simulation and three empirical studies are carried out at varying response rate. It is clearly identified from the numerical results that our proposed class of estimators is more efficient as compare to their counterpart.
