Ellen Wartella

Ellen Wartella, PhD, is the Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani Professor of Communication Studies at Northwestern University and is the author or editor of 12 books and approximately 200 book chapters, research articles, reports, and papers. She is editor of Social Policy Reports, a journal of the Society for Research in Child Development, and is a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, the American Psychological Society, and the International Communication Association. She is past President of the International Communication Association.

Drew P. Cingel

Drew P. Cingel, PhD, is an assistant professor in the Department of Communication at the University of California, Davis. His broad area of research examines the intersection between human development, media use, and media effects. He is primarily interested in the effects of television and social media on adolescent well-being, as well as the impact of prosocial media on young children’s moral judgments and reasoning.[email protected]

Alexis R. Lauricella

Alexis R. Lauricella, PhD, is the Associate Director of the Center on Media and Human Development at Northwestern University and a Lecturer in the department of Communication Studies. Lauricella earned her PhD in Developmental Psychology and her Master’s degree in Public Policy from Georgetown University. Her research is applied in nature and lies at the intersection of child development, communication, and public policy. Her research focuses on children’s learning from media.
