Robert J. Bonk

Robert J. Bonk (retired) was a professor of professional writing at Widener University, located in Chester, Pennsylvania, U.S.A. His educational credentials encompass technical communication and healthcare sciences, with his most recent research focusing on the contexts of healthcare education. Dr. Bonk has published and presented his research both locally and internationally. His third book, Writing for Today’s Healthcare Audiences, was republished in a second edition with website tools in 2022 by Broadview Press. In 2009, he was named a Fellow of the American Medical Writers Association. Prior to academia, Dr. Bonk had led the medical communication function of an international pharmaceutical firm. His personal interests – particularly during retirement – include ice dance and watercolors. He previously served on the editorial board of the Journal of Communication in Healthcare: Strategies, Media and Engagement in Global Health for more than 10 years (2009–2021).
