1 It should be noted that Tom Tyler, one of the leading scholars on PJ, does treat RJ as a separate approach. See Tyler (Citation2006, 316–321). However, he classifies both under the term self-regulatory approaches to rule breaking.

measured as the degree to which the offender was remorseful, apologized to the victim and understood the impact of victimization, the degree to which victims understood the offender's situation, and the extent of positive movement between the offender, victim or their supporters.
