Abstract
This article has reviewed about one of the most potential metal oxide nanoparticles, Cerium oxide nanoparticles (CeO2NPs) and various synthesis methods including combustion, microwave, solvothermal, sol-gel, simple co-precipitation method, spray pyrolysis, hydrothermal synthesis, microemulsion method, solvo thermal method and Green synthesis: plant mediated (Olea Europaea, Prosopis juliflora, Azadirachta indica, Petroselinum crispum, Aloe Barbadensis, Hibiscus sabdariffa), Nutrient mediated (Honey), Fungus mediated (Aspergillus niger, Humicola sp) and Biopolymer mediated (starch). CeO2NPs catalytic properties such as superoxide dismutase mimetic (SOD) and catalase mimetic activities. Biomedical applications of CeO2NPs such as anticancer, antiinflammatory, antioxidative, antimicrobial, antidiabetic and for the treatment of various neurodegenerative diseases are also reported.
