Abstract
Objective: To report on economic studies of Australian mental health issues.
Conclusion: Although the international literature on the economics of mental health issues is increasing, and although many Australian studies exist on one comorbid condition of mental illness, namely substance abuse, there are very few empirical studies by economists of Australia’s mental health issues.
