The year 2005 brings with it a new era for our journal. The journal has a new, abbreviated name, Cutaneous and Ocular Toxicology, a new cover, a listing in all major indexing systems including Medline/PubMed, an excellent editorial board, and, most importantly of all, outstanding and timely published original articles.
A number of goals were established when I took over as editor of the journal, and they have all been accomplished. One of these goals was to work with the Society of Toxicology (SOT) and the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO) by establishing travel grants for students in both organizations. In 2005, travel grants totaling $2000 will be awarded to students working in the fields of skin (SOT) and eye (ARVO) toxicology.
We must not rest on our accomplishments, however, but must continue to strive to publish the very best articles in the area of skin and eye toxicology. In addition, the journal is soliciting review articles for the journal. We need help from our readership in securing review articles along with a continual flow of excellent original research papers. Once again, I am asking for your help to continue the growth of Cutaneous and Ocular Toxicology by requesting both review articles and original papers.
I look forward to another year serving you as the editor of Cutaneous and Ocular Toxicology. I hope to make the journal as attractive and profitable as possible to our readership. Thank you for your support in submitting your best work to Cutaneous and Ocular Toxicology.
