Manuella Adrian
Manuella Adrian, M.Sc.Hyg., has worked as a Senior Research Scientist directing health behaviors research and Director of Research at the Kansas Health Institute, a Senior Scientist and Head of the Statistical Research Program at the Addiction Research Foundation of Ontario, Canada, a Research Economist with Health and Welfare Canada, and a Policy Analyst at the Ministry of State for Science and Technology with the Canadian federal Government. She has consulted for the World Health Organization (WHO), the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), and the Organization for the Control of Endemic Diseases in Central Africa (OCEAC-USAID). Her research areas include: quantitative studies into cost benefit/cost effectiveness; population health; health behaviors; measuring quality of life (QALYs/DALYs); social costs; health care financing; evaluations of the impact of health care and public health initiatives; addictions; psychoactive drugs; outcomes; estimates of market size and postmarketing surveillance of pharmaceuticals; healthcare management and financing; needs-based planning; epidemiology; and special populations (women, youth, elderly, minorities). She has served as principal investigator in peer-reviewed grants and as a reviewer for grants and scientific journals. She has over 190 professional publications, including: Medical Care; J.
