Neuropsychological Deficits in Patients with Alcohol and Other Psychoactive Substance Abuse and Dependence

Abstract

Thirty randomly selected outpatient substance abusers were given a neuropsychological test battery. Sixty percent were found to have moderate to severe cerebral dysfunction. Results suggest that neuropsycholo-gy should be considered a vital discipline among substance abuse programs.
