This article refers to:
Retraction – Polyethyleneimine-based gene therapy by inhalation

The retraction notice below, published in Expert Opinion on Biological Therapy in January 2012, contained inaccurate information which we would like to now correct.

Retraction – Polyethyleneimine-based gene therapy by inhalation Expert Opinion on Biological Therapy January 2012, Vol. 12, No. 1, Pages 135-135 (doi:10.1517/14712598.2012.639554)

The retraction notice stated that there was significant similarity between CL Densmore “Polyethyleneimine-based gene therapy by inhalationExpert Opin Biol Ther 2003;3(7):1083-92 and “The re-emergence of aerosol gene delivery: a viable approach to lung cancer therapy” Current Cancer Drug Targets, Vol 3 (4) 2003: 275-286.

At the time we were unable to contact the author for further information and proceeded to retract the article in order to correct the literature.

Dr Densmore has since informed the publisher that the similarity between the two articles was highlighted by him to the editorial staff at the journal prior to publication, therefore publication of the redundant article was the sole responsibility of the editorial team.

It was also incorrectly stated that the author, Professor C Densmore, had passed away. The Expert Opinion publishers wish to express their most sincere apologies for this error. Procedures within the journal have been examined to ensure this does not happen again.
