Abstract
Vulval dermatoses encompass a wide variety of skin conditions, including eczema (both endogenous and exogenous), psoriasis, lichen sclerosus and lichen planus, among many others. The manifestations of these dermatoses include severe itch and discomfort, which often result in greatly reduced quality of life associated with loss of sleep, social embarrassment, psychosexual problems and years of inadequate treatment in the absence of a correct diagnosis. This review examines the range of vulval dermatoses, their clinical features and the appropriate investigations and treatment.
