Who will be the next Editor-in-Chief of the Scandinavian Journal of Primary Health Care?

A new Editor-in-Chief for the Scandinavian Journal of Primary Health Care (SJPHC) will be appointed, to take over as of June 2011.

The new editor will head an editorial group appointed by the Nordic societies for general practice (Danish College of General Practice, Finnish Association for General Practice, Icelandic College of Family Physicians, Norwegian College of General Practice, Swedish Association of General Practice). The SJPHC is owned by the Nordic Federation of General Practice and uses Informa Healthcare as publisher.

The SJPHC is a leading journal within general practice and family medicine research. It is peer-reviewed, has open access and a journal citation index of 2.2. Paper editions come out four times a year. Manuscript handling is electronic and web-based.

The Editor-in-Chief must have ambitions and visions regarding medical publishing and be highly familiar with research in general practice. Experience with peer review and ideally also with editorial work is important. The editor is responsible for editorial decisions, organization of editorial work, strategic planning and budgeting. The budget includes salaries for part-time jobs in the editorial office.
