NEW EDITORS

In 2010 three new members have joined the editorial group of the Scandinavian Journal of Primary Health Care.

Emil L. Sigurdsson is the new National Editor for Iceland, Hans Thulesius the National Editor for Sweden and Kristjan Gudmundsson the Assistant Editor for Iceland.

Emil L. Sigurdsson works full time as a GP in Hafnarfjordur, Iceland. He has been teaching at the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Iceland for 15 years and his current postition is associate professor. His PhD thesis (1996) was on coronary heart disease among Icelandic men and his main research fields are cardiovascular diseases, quality control in family medicine – for example the treatment of migraine, hypertension, atrial fibrillation, obesity, and the use of ambulatory blood pressure measurement.

Hans Thulesius is employed by Landstinget Kronoberg in Växjö, Sweden, working 50% as a GP and 50% doing post-doctoral research, mentoring, and teaching. His thesis in January 2003 was on cancer from a primary care perspective. Today his research interests are diverse with Grounded Theory being a vital part of the portfolio. He is on the editorial board of Grounded Theory Review and the International Journal of Qualitative Studies on Health and Well-being.

Kristjan G. Gudmundsson graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Iceland, in 1986 and finished his postgraduate training in family medicine in Borås, Sweden, 1992. He has worked as a general practitioner in Northern Iceland for many years and is now a chief physician in Glaesibaer Primary Healthcare Center in Reykjavík. Kristjan defended his PhD thesis at the University of Iceland in 2001 on the epidemiology of Dupuytren's disease in Iceland. His recent studies are in the field of general practice and genetics.
