Longitudinal myelitis associated with yellow fever vaccination

Chaves M, Riccio P, Patrucco L, Rojas J, Cristiano E. Longitudinal myelitis associated with yellow fever vaccination. J Neurovirol. 2009, Jul 3:1-3.

We have found an unintentional error regarding the name and source of the vaccine mentioned in the above-referenced article.

In the Case Reports section, we mentioned the use of 17D-204 YFV, a vaccine used often throughout Argentina, manufactured by Sanofi-Pasteur (page 349). However, the vaccine used was 17DD YFV manufactured by FioCruz/Bio-Manguinhos.

There was a misunderstanding as to which vaccine the patient received. At the moment the patient received the vaccine, two vaccines were being used due to a yellow fever outbreak in South America including the north of Argentina.

We have confirmed the exact vaccine the patient received by the batch number and exact date of vaccination.

This change doesn't alter the conclusions presented in the report.
