The Publisher of the above referenced article, published in Journal of Enzyme Inhibition and Medicinal Chemistry, 2012; 27(1): 110–116 (DOI: 10.3109/14756366.2011.578743), retracts this manuscript as substantial portions of the text and data in this paper were not original and had been previously published in a paper by Mymoona Akhter, Asif Husain, Bismillah Azad, Mohd. Ajmal entitled Aroylpropionic acid based 2,5-disubstituted-1,3,4-oxadiazoles: Synthesis and their anti-inflammatory and analgesic activities (European Journal of Medicinal Chemistry 2009, Vol 44: 2372–2378).

Journal of Enzyme Inhibition and Medicinal Chemistry published this article in good faith, and on the basis of warranties made by the corresponding author regarding the originality of the work. The article is retracted from all editions. The lead author, Jignesh Priyakant Raval, accepts this action. The publisher attempted to contact all the other authors on the paper but was unable to reach any of them.
