This edition of the Journal begins with 3 excellent articles in the area of fractional resurfacing and fractional vaporization. The 1st article by Bloom looks at an assessment of Safety and Efficacy of a bipolar fractionated radiofrequency device in the treatment of photodamaged skin. Shin then follows with a split-face comparison of a fractional micro needle radiofrequency and fractional carbon dioxide laser therapy in acne patients. In the last of this series Lask describes fractional ex-vivo vaporization of tissue with an oscillatory array of high temperature rods.

Treatment of acne scars continues to be of interest to all aesthetic physicians. There have been and continue to be numerous approaches for such patients. Maluki describes treatment of atrophic facial acne scars with a Q-Switched Nd: YAG laser.

In the search for treatment modalities that add to benefits of botulinum treatments, Ascher describes a skincare regimen containing both retinol and hyaluronic acid in an attempt to optimize botulinum toxin injections. Finally, Tepavcevic compares a variety of approaches for the treatment of lower extremity telangiectases.
