Abstract
Piriformis syndrome tends to be overlooked as an etiology of low back pain/buttock pain in the palliative care population. Increased familiarity with this diagnosis and its treatment may increase its recognition and facilitate optimal treatment. Optimal treatment approaches to the clinical problem of piriformis syndrome may provide improved analgesia and function while minimizing adverse effects.
